HOW IT WORKS

It's a magic-fantasy-sweepstake-engage-as-much-or-as-little-as-you-want-kinda-fun-sweepstake.

Step one (1): Pick your teams.Choose four (4) football countries. They're your team now. You can't pick all the big famous ones though; you have to pick at least one (1) underdog, too. Or hit Lucky dip and enjoy the simplicity of a classic randomly assigned sweepstake. At the click of a button!

Step two (2): Get a surprise.After you pick four (4) and submit, the game gives you a secret fifth (5th) team at random, like a lucky dip at a school fair. You can swap it for one (1) of the host countries if you don't like it.

Step three (3): Watch the games. Every time one (1) of your teams plays at the World Cup, you earn points.

Your team wins → three (3) points
Draw → one (1) point
Score loads of goals → bonus points
One (1) player scores a hat-trick → bonus point
Your team is a big underdog and still wins → bonus point

The unique pick rule.If you're the ONLY player in the whole game who picked a team, that team is your unique pick. They score you an extra point every single game they play. It's like having a secret weapon nobody else knows about.

The pre-tournament shakeup.The team that everyone picked the most will be announced before the tournament kicks off, and then removed from the game entirely, no Scotland for yous! Anyone who had them gets a random replacement; you won't all get England, for example, would never do that to you. It's the game's way of making sure we keep variety in the entries, keep things spicy, and keep the Scotland/England balance organic.

Who wins? When all forty-eight (48) teams have played all of their socks off and a single gallant nation stands proud with a gold trophy at the end of the tournament. Whoever has the most total points, wins.

Pick four (4) teams. Max two from Pots 1 + 2 combined. At least one Pot 4 underdog. No piling onto the favourites.
